Hazel Brooks, age 90, of Bridgeton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the South Jersey Healthcare Hospice Care Unit in Bridgeton following a brief illness. Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Ewing and Avis Carter Ewing. She was the wife of the late George L. Brooks Jr. She had been a Bridgeton Area resident all of her life. Hazel enjoyed camping and traveling with her late husband and she cherished the time she spent with her family. She is survived by; two daughters, Carol Boyer and her husband Harry of South Carolina and Shirley Woodside and her husband James of Hopewell Twp.; two sons, George L. Brooks III and his wife Elaine of Woodstown and Daryl Brooks, Sr. of Hopewell Twp.; an Aunt, Vera Splitter of Hopewell Twp.; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by; her husband, George L. Brooks, Jr.; a brother, William Ewing; and two sisters, Charlotte Atkinson and Martha Watson. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2 PM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 2 PM prior to services.
