Obituary of J.B. Sawyer

J.B. Sawyer, 86, of Bridgeton passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Newport, TN to the late Benjamin Sawyer and Mattie Gilliam Sawyer, he was the husband of the late Dollie Myers Sawyer. J.B. had been a resident of Bridgeton for 20 years and prior to that he had lived in Hopewell Twp. Before his retirement, he had been employed at Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton. In his free time, J.B. enjoyed riding his three-wheeler and he was also an avid deer hunter. He attended the Tri-County Lighthouse Baptist Church in Upper Deerfield Twp. He is survived by three daughters, Linda Burgess, Carolyn Probasco (Neal) and Sharon Stidham (Jimmy); a sister, Shelby “Jean” Sawyer; a brother, Truby Sawyer; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and neices. He was preceded in death by a son, J.B. Sawyer, Jr.; a sister, Marie Holt and a son-in-law, Kenneth A. Burgess. The funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
