It was my great joy to have been a friend of Sharlene's. She was a woman of Faith who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus.
Sharlene was our daughter Lindsey's first Sunday School teacher at Deerfield Presbyterian Church. She taught there for many years and introduced young hearts and minds to how Jesus loved them.
The amazing thing about Sharlene was after her disability, she didn't give up her Christian work and witness. She held a weekly Bible study in her Apartment and continued to do so when she went to the Manor. Her card ministry was to the members of DPC and their families, remembering their birthdays and trials through sickness. . She encouraged a group of woman to help her make the cards, write and mail them. My Mother received cards from this ministry until her death and my step Dad , Jim, who is 95, receives them also. Sharlene's ministry has been an encouragement to so many.
My sympathy goes out to her family, especially the young people who will never know the wonderful person their grand and great grand mother, Sharlene was. She loved her family and spoke of them often.
May you have peace and comfort from Jesus and know that Sharlene will be made whole and without pain in the arms of her God, the God who created us all.
Blessings to your family, Carol Tanimae

Jeri and family,
One of the greatest items of life you can give to another person is introducing them to your other friends, especially when they are your mother and father . Sorry to see they have passed. I’m sure they are in good hands. Thanks for sharing them , many years ago.

Thinking of Sharlene... my mind goes back to the church we all went to when we were younger....she was one of most gentle women I had ever known as a very young girl...always a smile and a kind word to me. I was proud to have known her! Will be praying for you boys!
