Obituary of Kuniye "June" Inouye Hanzawa

“June”, as she was known by all, passed away on March 8, 2020 after a long illness at home surrounded by family. She was born in Oakland, California in 1934. The Inouye family was interned in Utah at the Topaz internment camp. After leaving Utah, her family moved to New Jersey where she met and married George Hanzawa. They recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. For those that knew her best, she was the “spirited” department head in the operating room at Bridgeton Hospital for many years. June is survived by her husband George; their daughters, Kelly and Leslie and their respective husbands Kenneth and Paul. June is also survived by her brother Edwin Inouye and his wife Evelyn. “Mamo” is sadly missed by her only grandchild, Michael George Keigo Moroney. The family has decided to hold a private memorial service at the grave site in Spring, 2020.
