Margaret L. Johnson-Gould, 53, of Vineland passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at her home. Born in Millville to the late Carter L. Wallace and Delores Johnson Garland, she was the wife of Anthony Gould. Margaret had been a resident of Cumberland County all of her life. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a case manager and counselor at Kintoc in Bridgeton for over ten years. She had been previously employed as a sales associate at Walmart in Millville, Behavioral Clinician in Pennsauken, a cashier at the former Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City and in the security department at the former Trump Plaza. Margaret had also served as a teacher and tutor for the No Child Left Behind Program. She had earned a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Cumberland County College. Margaret was a member of Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton. She also volunteered at several organizations including; the Cumberland and Salem County Adult Literacy Center and as a mentor at Big Brothers and Big Sisters. In 2004, Margaret was named among the Who's Who in Junior Colleges. In 2006, she was nationally recognized in People Magazine for her work as a tutor. In her free time, she enjoyed; keeping up with friends and family through social media, taking family pictures, listening to music and sharing her contagious laughter with her family. She is survived by; her husband, Anthony Gould of Vineland; her step-son, Anthony Lee Gould, Jr. of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Carter Lorenzo-Johnson (Michelle) of Vineland and Franklin Garland of Clementon; five sisters, Antoinette Stewart (Michael) of Clementon, Carmella Johnson (Erick) of Vineland, Andrea Garland of Clayton, Katrina Garland-Stephenson (Keno) of MD and Andrea Paris of Buena Vista Twp.; her goddaughter, Sara Collins of Brotmanville; two grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by; her mother and step-father, Delores and Charles Garland; her father, Carter L. Wallace and a sister, Melinda Johnson. Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Temple, 29 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Bridgeton on Friday, March 6th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
