Obituary of Edwin "Ed" L. Sutton

Edwin L. “Ed” Sutton, 74, of Commercial Twp. passed away following an extended illness on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the home of his son in Elmer surrounded by his family. Born in Millville to the late Alonzo J. Sutton and Doris R. Pflegher Sutton, he was the husband of the late Carol Ann Cook Sutton. He had been a resident of Commercial Twp. all of his life. Prior to his retirement, Ed had worked as a Mold Changer for Wheaton Glass Co. from 1967 to 2000. He was a former member of the Good Sports Gunning Club in Millville. In his free time, Ed enjoyed farming, camping, hunting, crabbing and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by; two sons, Edwin W. Sutton his wife, Shelby Mead of Commercial Twp. and Jon Sutton and his wife, Kristyn McGaha of Elmer; four grandchildren, Brianna Sutton of NC, Brianna Shields, Madison Sutton and Jon Sutton, Jr.; a great grandson, Archie Thoden; five brothers, Marvin Sutton, Clyde Sutton (Sharon), Wayne Sutton, Ronald Sutton (Chyllen) and William Sutton and three sisters, Debra Gandy (Jessie), Joyce Anderson (Walt) and Diane Stackhouse (Jack). Besides his wife Carol Ann, Ed was preceded in death by; three sisters, Joan Morris, Adelia “Dee” Sheppard and Frances Noblett. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, January 25th at 12 Noon. Friends will be received at the funeral home from from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services. A private interment will be held at a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Millville.
