Obituary of Tamara "Tammy" Burgess-Krouse

Tamara “Tammy” M. Burgess-Krouse, 61, of Fairfield Twp., passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019, in the company of her loved ones, at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland.

            Born in Bridgeton to Macie Pippin Davis and the late Charles Burgess, Tammy had been a Cumberland County resident all of her life. In her younger years, Tammy was a bartender at the former Hillcrest Tavern in Bridgeton. She had also been employed as a bus driver for Sheppard Bus Company. She later worked in the cafeteria at Fairfield Primary School and drove for Musso Bus Company where she transported handicap children.

            Tammy’s hugs were healing. She had an infectious laugh that brought joy to anyone who heard it. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved bowling, fishing, crabbing, and was a nature enthusiast. She loved camping and enjoyed weekend getaways in the Poconos. In her later years, Tammy was diagnosed with COPD, which took its toll and eventually her life.

            She is survived by her mother, Macie Davis of Cedarville; a daughter, Amanda Krouse of Fairfield Twp.; a granddaughter, Laynie Sheppard of Fairfield Twp.; two sisters, Robin Burgess of Cedarville and Danielle Burgess of KY; three nieces, Renae Forman (Bruce) of Cedarville, Tyerra and Monica; a nephew; Andre and a great nephew, QL. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Burgess.

            Funeral services will be held at Newport Baptist Church, 319 Baptist Road Newport, NJ 08345, on Monday, December 16^th at 12 Noon.  Interment will take place at Centerton Freewill Baptist Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp.
