Obituary of Elizabeth M. Johnson-Griffith

Elizabeth M. Johnson-Griffith, 80, of Flat Top, WV passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at her home.

Born in Keystone, WV to the late Panfield Chernutan and Josephine Mazinsky Chernutan, she was the wife of both the late Robert L. Johnson and the late Carl Griffith. Elizabeth had been a resident of West Virginia for the past six years and prior to that she had lived in Indiana and Upper Deerfield Twp.

Prior to her retirement, Elizabeth had operated the Cedarville County Kitchen with her late husband Robert. She had been employed previously at Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for 29 years. Elizabeth had been an active member of the Vineland Loyal Order of Moose.

She is survived by a son, Donald L. Johnson and his wife, Gayle of Upper Deerfield Twp.; four brothers, Pete Chernutan of GA, Paul Chernutan of GA, Frank Chernutan of WV and Julius Chernutan of OH; four sisters, Vicki McDonough of WV, Julie Chernutan of DE, Veronica Shreves of DE and Pat Matherly of DE; two grandsons, Michael Johnson and Donald L. Johnson, Jr. and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; two brothers, John and Stanley and a sister, Virginia.

Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, November 30th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
