Obituary of Sandra J. (Lewis) Pitts

Sandra J. (Lewis) Pitts, 67, of Bridgeton passed away on Sunday Morning, November 10, 2019 at the home of her daughter in Egg Harbor City under the care of Hospice and her family.

Born in Neptune to the late Charles F. Lewis and Louise Wingo Lewis, she was a Bridgeton resident all of her life.

Prior to her retirement, Sandra worked as a cook at the Cumberland Family Shelter in Vineland for over two years. She had been formerly employed at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City in Security, Dollar Super Store in Bridgeton, Durand Glass in Millville, Lets Do Linens in Bridgeton and the former Hunts Foods Co. in Bridgeton. Sandra was a faithful disciple at Life in Christ Ministries International in Bridgeton where she was a member of the Keepers of the Flame and served as assistant director of the South Jersey Food Bank. In her free time, she enjoyed playing drums, bass guitar and keyboard, singing and most of all spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Sebastion “Deon” Lewis and his wife, Yomaira of Pennsauken; her daughter, Latisha Roberts and her husband, Michael of Egg Harbor City; her sisters, Loretta Lewis of Bridgeton and Sonya Berry of Williamstown; her Goddaughter, Daphne “Sweet Pea” Pickett Thomas; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by two nephews, Michael Lewis and Marvin Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at Life in Christ Ministries International, 360 Indian Ave., Bridgeton on Saturday, November 16th at 1 PM with Dr. Alfred Comer, Pastor presiding. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 11 AM to 12:45 PM prior to the services.
