Obituary of Mamie L. Patterson

Mrs.Mamie Furlow Patterson Age 90 entered into Eternal Rest on October 3rd 2019 at Inspira Medical. Mamie was born on June 2nd 1929 in Thomaston GA, to the late Shead and Dora Furlow. She was the wife of the late Leroy Patterson. Mrs.Mamie was a resident of Cedarville NJ where she worked on Maple Run Farm and helped out babysitting and raising the File Children, prior to moving to Bridgeton. Mamie remained a resident of Bridgeton until the death of her husband. Mamie health started declining and she became a resident of Bishop McCarthy in Vineland NJ. Mamie was member of Second Pilgrim Baptist Church in Cedarville NJ where she served on the Churches Mother Board, Sunday School President and Sung on The Senior Choir under the leadership of Pastor Robert Walters. Mamie was an active member of the Adult Active Day Care Center where she loved knitting,crocheting, playing games and spending time with her peers. Mamie was known for her very opinionated ,feisty attitude and motherly love and guidance. Mamie was also known for her long finger nails. Mamie added to the English language her favorite sayings such as "Ohhhh Weeeee","Love", "Get Down Child" and "God Bless Your Heart". Mrs.Mamie leaves to cherish her memories Devoted God Daughter Hope File and God Son Nathan File. 3 sisters: Rozena Hickman ,Geraldine Cheney, and Doris Bolden. Brother :Harrison Furlow. God Children: Taheem Rasheed, Johnny File Jr, Carolyn Blakely, Jerome File, Michael File and Johnny File III , her Second Pilgrim Church family and a host of Neices, Nephews and Many Special Friends. Mrs.Mamie was preceded in death by her Husband Leroy Patterson, 1 sister Mary Francis,4 Brothers Harvey Furlow,Shead R Furlow, Calvin Furlow and Leander Furlow and 2 God Sons Carl File Sr and Samuel File Sr. Funeral services will be held at the Second Pilgram Baptist Church, 598 Newport Road, Newport on Friday, October 11^th at 11 AM.  Friends will be received at the church from 10 top 11 AM prior to the services.  Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville.  Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
