Oleta Clement, age 99, of Millville and formerly of Bridgeton, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at South Jersey Regional Medical Center. Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Leon Chew and Etta Miller Chew and the wife of the late J. Sydney Clement. She had been a lifetime resident of the Bridgeton area, but in her younger years grew up on the family farm in Fairton. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Clement had been employed at Clark's Laundromat in Bridgeton and also at Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Township where she served as Matron in 1966. She attended the First Wesleyan Church in Bridgeton. Survivors include her son, E. Sydney Clement and his wife Helen of Bridgeton; a son-in-law, William Avellino; three granddaughters, Cathy Clement, Joy Avellino Vierra (Filbert) and Melissa Avellino Berschen (John) and their daughter Bailey; a granddaughter-in-law, Elizabeth Avellino and her son, William Avellino, III and daughter, Monica Avellino. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Elaine Avellino, a grandson, William Avellino, II a sister, Pauline Chew Whitesell; and a brother, Millard Chew. Private graveside funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
