Buddy A. Tuthill, 81, of Upper Deerfield Twp. died at his home under the care of family and Hospice on Friday, September 13, 2019 following a battle with cancer.

 

Born in Bridgeton to the late Alice (Maul) Tuthill and Wesley Tuthill, he was the husband of Joan C. Fleming Tuthill. Buddy grew up in Salem County and graduated from Salem High School in 1956. Following graduation, he joined the United States Coast Guard.

 

Prior to his retirement, Buddy had worked as the Maintenance Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds for Cumberland County for 27 years. In his free time, he was an avid fisherman and boater.

 

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joan of Upper Deerfield Twp.; a step-daughter, Liane Knagenhjelm; a sister-in-law, Jana Tuthill and family; and cousins, Jackie Coyne (Jim), Edward Rhubart (Alan), Michael Rhubart (Terry), Kay Jean Stine (Harry) and William Hawley (Jean).He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Alice and Wesley Tuthill and a brother, Jay Tuthill.

 

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Buddy's memory to Salem County Humane Society, 214 North Game Creek Rd., P.O.Box 214, Carneys Point, NJ 08069 or to the Upper Deerfield Fire Department, 10 Hoover Drive, Seabrook, NJ.
