Obituary of Pamela R. Girtain
Pamela R. Girtain, 63, of Lower Alloways Creek passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
Born in Salem to the late James T. Rich and Bonnie B. Caldwell Rich, she was the wife of the late Richard R. Girtain and the late Walter L. Hogate. She had been a resident of Lower Alloways Creek for the past 35 years and prior to that she had lived in Salem.
Pamela had been employed at the Lower Alloways Creek Elementary School for 24 years. She was an active member of the Tri-County Lighthouse Baptist Church in Upper Deerfield Twp. She loved music and enjoyed singing in church and especially loved her family. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting. An “Angel”, Pam was truly a kind, humble and beautiful soul.
She is survived by her two sisters, Gale Steelman and her husband, Lou of Alloway Twp. and Brenda Wood and her husband, Woody of Lower Alloways Creek; two nephews, two great-nephews, one great niece and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard R. Girtain, her second husband, Walter L. Hogate and her siblings, Donnie Caldwell, Judy Nielson, Wayne Rich and Roger Rich.
Funeral services will be held at the Tri-County Lighthouse Baptist Church, 149 Deerfield Dr., Upper Deerfield Township on Saturday, August 31st at 12 Noon. Friends will be received at the church from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Pamela's memory to the Tri-County Lighthouse Baptist Church Building Fund, 149 Old Deerfield Pike, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
