When I came to visit the Klenk's, John and Robbie would tackle me to the ground and we would roll and wrestle all over the front room. He was a hoot!

John was my best friend and like a brother to me. We did a lot of stuff together and watched out for each other. John was always true to himself and he made the time you spent with him was always memorable.
I love you man. You will be missed greatly.
My prayers to family and friends.

We are so deeply saddened. We’ve known John since high school and shared so many beautiful and wonderful memories together! So many of them were spent in his basement. We were honored that he was our best man at our wedding in 1994 and he gave a beautiful and moving speech. He was truly one of a kind and we will miss him terribly. Sending love and prayers to you all.

Sad to hear one of my good friends has passed. It was a real shock to me. John and I became friends while attending The First Church of the Nazarene and became better friends in High School. We had a lot of good times and created a ton of memories together. They are all flooding back to me as I write this. We didn't get to see each other quite as often in recent years but we kept in touch and would get together for a few beers in AC from time to time. He was a great friend, a funny person and will be missed dearly.

I've known John since my high school days, and since then I've known him only to be a decent guy with no ill words for anyone. Always friendly and willing to ask how you were doing. John danced to the beat of his own drum and lived his life on his own terms yet made you feel like your path was also important.
John was from good stock. His family was always friendly and kind to anyone who they met. Always personable and willing to listen, and John was just an extension of those traits. The apple didn't fall far from that tree.
The loss of John is heartbreaking to all of us who knew him best. There will never be another like him. He was unique, and he was my friend. He will never be forgotten.

Mr.Klenk, Robert & Family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of John's passing this week. You are all in my thoughts during this difficult time. I have so many memories of John growing up on Justin Avenue- riding our bikes, sledding in the snow, Cub Scouts, waiting for our school bus and playing in the woods. The list goes on. There is not a time that I do not think of him when I come back to the Neighborhood for a visit. I am hoping you find comfort knowing he is a better place.
Rest in peace John,
Michael Sayre
