Eva L. Whitfield, 92, of Bridgeton passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 at her home under the care of her family and hospice.

 

Born in Macon County, GA to the late Rufus Hicks and Willie Mae Banks, she was the wife of the late T.J. Whitfield. Eva had been a resident of Bridgeton for the past 45 years and prior to that she had lived in Georgia.

 

Eva had been a homemaker but had also worked at with Large Farms in Georgia for many years while she resided there.

 

She is survived by; eleven children, Essie Frazer of Millville, Fannie Mae Ford (Robert Pierce) of Bridgeton, Thomas Whitfield of Bridgeton, Daisy Green of Vineland, Frances Whitfield of MN, Susie Kelson (Robert) of SC, Willie Mae Pierce of Bridgeton, Wilma Cicchino (Dominick) of Vineland, Brenda Beckham (Mason) of GA, Linda Whitfield of Philadelphia, PA and Emmitt Whitfield of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters, Essie Mae Gibson of MN and Lousie Jones of GA; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, TJ, she was preceded in death by her son, Jamie Whitfield.

 

Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Temple, 29 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Bridgeton on Monday July 29th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
