Ruthie M. Marcus also known as Anna Holmes, 80, of Bridgeton passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Bishop McCarthy Residence in Vineland.

 

Born in Louisville, GA to the late Amos Holmes, Sr. and Elise Howard Holmes, she was the wife of the late Clifford Marcus. Ruthie had been a resident of the Bridgeton area most of her life.

 

Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at Seabrook Farms in Upper Deerfield Twp. Ruthie was a member of the Bridgeton Elks Lodge. She had attended St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Bridgeton and Mt. Mariah Baptist Church in Brotmanville.

 

She is survived by her brother, Amos Holmes, Jr. of Bridgeton. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Clifford Marcus; a daughter, Marcia D. Marcus; two brothers, Cleveland Holmes and James Holmes and a sister, Catherine Green.

 

Funeral services will be held at the Bridgeton Church of God, 81 Pamphylia Ave., Bridgeton on Friday, July 26th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Written condolences can be sent to the family though the funeral home website at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
