George Frederick Damrau, 73 of Bridgeton, New Jersey passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 of Congestive heart failure at the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. 

 

Born in Long Island, to the late Frederick Damrau and Beatrice Knabbe, he was the husband of the late Dorothy Ellen Garrison Damrau. George was a farmer at Rottkamp Farm, Inc. in Bridgeton, NJ where he worked in the fields and drove the produce to the market. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for the Bridgeton Fire Department. In his later years, he loved camping. 

 

He is survived by; his son, George John Damrau, 50 of Elmont, NY; his daughter, Dawn Marie Parker, 48 of Hempstead, NY; and his siblings; Anne Dedeus, Raymond Knabbe and Richard Knabbe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. Damrau.

 

Funeral service will be held at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Bridgeton, NJ on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
