Obituary of Mabel E. Spencer

Mabel E. Spencer, 88, of Hopewell Twp. passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at her home.

 

Born in Bridgeton to the late Claude Johnson and Myrtle Hitchner Johnson, she was the wife of the late Vernon A. “Pete” Spencer. Mabel had lived in Fairfield Twp. from 1966 to 1984 before relocating to Vineland. She later moved to Hopewell Twp. in 1997.

 

Prior to her retirement, Mabel had been employed at Owens Illinois Glass Co. in the selection department for over 20 years. In her free time she enjoyed doing crafts, especially wreaths and ceramics and babysitting her grandchildren. In her younger years, Mabel enjoyed rollerskating and boating with her late husband, Pete.

 

She is survived by; her daughter, Michele Yoshida and her husband, John of Hopewell Twp.; a granddaughter, Jessica Udasi and her husband, Dee of Pine Hill; three grandsons, Joshua Grossman and Nicolas and Bradley Yoshida; a half brother, Dave Olsen of Vineland and two half sisters, Dorris and Patty. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Vernon A. “Pete” Spencer; a granddaughter, Nicole Grossman and her sister, Darlene Fleetwood.

 

Graveside services will be held at Overlook Cemetery, Overlook Dr., Bridgeton on Thursday, May 30th at 10 AM. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
