James L. Kerr, Sr., age 79, of Upper Deerfield Township died Friday, August 17, 2012 at South Jersey Healthcare-Elmer following a six year period of declining health. An Upper Deerfield Township resident for the past 21 years, he was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 22, 1932 and was the husband of Judith Richards Kerr. Before moving to Upper Deerfield he had been an Alloway Township resident. Mr. Kerr had been employed in sales with the Prudential Insurance Company for many years and had worked out of the Bridgeton office. He had also previously been an advertising representative for the WJIC Radio Station in Salem and had worked with the NJ Shelter-All Company based in Pennsylvania. In addition to his wife Judy, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Nan Kerr of Alloway Twp.; three sons, James L. Kerr, Jr. of Alloway Twp., Justin A. Kerr of Vineland, Zach A. Kerr of Upper Deerfield Twp. and three grandchildren, Caleb Kerr and Grace and Elaina Kerr. Private graveside funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Mr. Kerr's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3 Eves Drive-Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
