Obituary of Timothy W. Ashbridge

Please share a memory of Timothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Timothy W. Ashbridge, 57, of Hopewell Twp. passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, April 14, 2019.  He had recently beat colon cancer only to leave this Earth muct too soon.

Born in Bridgeton to Glendon Ashbridge and Bolena Holt Moore, he had been a resident of Hopewell Twp. most of his life.

Tim had a colorful work history.  He started with Castellini Brothers out of high school then traveled around the country "Grooving" which is to say he cut groves in the cement floors of some of America's largest dairy farms so that the cows didn't slip on the way in or out of the milking barns.  He was also the all-around Handy Man in the Townsend Avenue neighborhood where he lived taking care of the senior neighbors with lawn mowing, leaf raking, snow shoveling and general maintenance.  Tim would do anything for anybody who asked for help.

His favorite companions were his cats.  He loved talking to his furry friends.  Tim was a member of the Fifth Ward Athletic Club and had recently renewed his membership for the socialization he got with the other like-minded members even though he no longer had partaked in the spirits offered at the club.

He is survived by his father, Glendon Ashbridge of Millville; his mother, Bolena Holt Moore of Newport, TN; a brother, Larry Ashbridge of Rosenhayn; two sisters, Pamela Ferguson and her husband, Don of Cedarville and Sherri Tyler and her husband, Toby of VA; his grandmother, Millicent Ashbridge of Hopewell Twp. and an aunt, Joan Cozza of Hopewell Twp.

Private funeral services and visitation will be held at the convenience of the family at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp.. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Tim's memory be made to the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter, 1244 North Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ  08360. Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
