Obituary of Eugenia N. Homan

Please share a memory of Eugenia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Eugenia N. Homan (Genie), age 71, of Elmer died suddenly on Friday, March 29, 2019 at her home.

Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Denn and Cora Hankins Denn and the wife of Barry S. Homan.  She had been a Bridgeton resident most of her life, then after their retirement she and Barry had the opportunity to travel many places and then settled in Elmer for the last three years.

Genie was an active member of the West Park United Methodist Church in Hopewell Township.  She loved spending time first with her family, camping was her second favorite hobby (being a snowbird at Disney) and then traveling.  If she was at home she enjoyed watching her Hallmark Movies.  Her loving husband, Barry, often referred to her as ‘Sugar Pie Honey Bun’ but she was also known as Mommy, Mom Mom and Nana.

In addition to her husband Barry, she is survived by her daughter, Michelle Blattenburger (Douglas); grandsons, Bradley Metcalf (Liz), Jason Metcalf (Katie); four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Lilyanna and Mason Metcalf.  In addition Genie is survived by five sisters, Pauline Henry, Nina Romanik, Deanna Gaskill, Donna Smaniotto and Darlene Rarey and a brother, Eugene Denn.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Dennis Denn and Chester Denn.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 5th at 10 AM at West Park United Methodist Church, 625 Shiloh Pike, Hopewell Township with the Rev. David Strope officiating.  Friends will be received at the church from 9 to 10 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Genie’s memory be made the West Park United Methodist Church Building Fund.   Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
