Dorothy Henrietta Lebron, age 89, of Hopewell Township, died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Milford Hospice Center in Milford, DE following a brief illness. Born in Dover, DE, on July 21, 1923 she was the daughter of the late John A. Reed and Mamie Morgan Reed and the wife of the late Julio Lebron. When she was a young girl, her family moved to Hancock's Bridge and during the time she attended Salem High School she worked at the family's delicatessen with her sisters that was also in Salem. Mrs. Lebron had been a Hopewell Township resident since 1998 and prior to that had resided in Bridgeton and Carmel. Before her retirement, she had been employed at the former Val Mode Lingerie Company and the former M.C. Schrank Company both in Bridgeton for 45 years. An active member of First Baptist Church in Bridgeton, she served as a Deaconess, was a member of the Care Committee and was chairperson of the Sunshine Committee. She loved sewing, cooking and helping others in any way she could. She also enjoyed going to Delaware to be with her daughter, son in law and grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara A. Dalton and her husband, Nicholas "Larry" Dalton of Houston, DE; three grandchildren, Lenwood Johnson, Jr. of Felton, DE, Van Johnson of Lewes, DE and Suzette Freeman of Smyrna, DE, 9 grandchildren and a very special niece, Lorraine Johnson of Millville who watched out for her along with many other nieces and nephews whom she loved. She was predeceased by two brothers, John A. Reed, Jr. and Francis C. Reed, four sisters, Edith Reed, Gladys Balentine, Ola Ridgway and Rose Reed and three grandchildren, Don T. Johnson, Peggy L. Pleasanton and Nathan W. Johnson. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Saturday, August 11th at 12 Noon. Burial will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
