Paul and family. I just came across your father's obituary . My condolences to your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You and your father have taken care of my family member's burials and have been supportive and compassionate. Words can never take away the pain and emptiness of losing a loved one but knowing that they are at peace and with God is comforting.

I knew Marv for most of my life and for all that time, he was a wonderful presence who never failed to bring a smile.
His public service was a perfect example of selflessness and always a steady ship in even the roughest seas. His gentle humor shone through in every position of responsibility he held, always caring for the people who depended upon him and bringing absolute integrity to each role.
This was never more true than for the countless families he provided for when as a consummate professional, he counseled when a loved one passed.
It is hard to imagine not having his presence in life but the gratitude for what we had runs deep. Rest well, Marc.

Just came home from two months in Ecuador, to see that we lost one who had been a friend for many years as we served together ministering to families in bereavement. I found Marvin Pagent to be kind, considerate, and caring, often going out of his way to assist someone. I found him to be ethical, trustworthy and ready to go the second mile, even in his public service. Though we lived a distance apart many of my parish used his services, from the early chapel in Cedarville to the many extensions to north Bridgeton. My regret that I missed the service and conveying my thoughts to the family. May God be with you each in this hour. Pastor Gerritt W. Kenyon, pastor emeritus Millville's First Assembly of God.

With deepest sympathies to the entire Padgett family with the passing of Marvin. He was a wonderful and caring man that always had time for a laugh and a smile. Always had time to chat about how his golf game was coming around from day to day. There isn't a better person to partner with our husband, father, and grandfather (Bill Burdsall) then Marvin entering heaven. We will see them both again.

Phyllis and I extend our warmest sympathies to the family upon this loss of a wonderful man, father and grandfather. During my 22 years in Bridgeton as Pastor of the Berean Baptist Temple, we had many interactions with Marv (Paul). He was always gracious, friendly and helpful to me and the families to whom we served together. It was an honor to know Marv and to serve with him. He will be greatly missed by not only his family but also to a grateful community that he served so selflessly. We pray that all the family will rest in the everlasting arms of God as He surrounds you with His love and strength. God bless each of you.

I will never forget how caring Marvin was to all of us when my father, Albert Kenney, died unexpectedly at the age of 52, over 45 years ago. I was barely 19 years old and my sister was 23, and we were left with many of the arrangements as my mother and others in my family were understandably very upset. He helped us arrange and do what I had to be done in a kind and caring the way. He knew my father and knew his favorite color was red, and so wore a bright red tide to both of the viewing and funeral in the tiny “old” Cedarville funeral home. I remember it being wall-to-wall people, with people lined up outside, and he kept things moving along, somehow knowing who to seat and where, which helped all of us so much. He will be remembered by many. My deepest sympathy go out to the entire family.
