            Russell Fithian, 86, of Alloway Twp. passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Southgate Healthcare in Carney's Point.

 

            Born in Salem to the late Alphonse Fithian and Emily Friant Fithian, he was the husband of Lois Downs Fithian. Russell had been a resident of Alloway Twp. for the past 62 years and prior to that he had lived in Canton.

 

            Russell was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean conflict. Before he retired, he had been employed by E.I. Dupont Chambers Works in Deepwater for 26 years. He was a member of Quinton Baptist Church.

 

            In addition to his wife, Lois, he is survived by five children, Russell Fithian, Jr., Linda Jones, Beverly Hayes, Emily Nazar and Frank Fithian; a sister, Beatrice Pearson and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Fithian and Alphonse Fithian, Jr.

 

            Graveside funeral services will be held at Salem County Veterans Cemetery, 719 NJ-45, Pilesgrove on Thursday, February 7th at 1 PM. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
