He arrived in Brooklyn, New York in his late teens in 1968 where he began working as a cook in New York City at the Assembly Steakhouse Restaurant. He also took on his passion and love for music for he played the guitar, congas, drums, along with various other instruments in a music band named Integracíon Puebla with his band members who were also his friends. They performed at various weekend night clubs, parties and family events like his daughter’s quinceañera party. He later moved to Bridgeton, NJ in the late summer of 1987. His very good friends knew him as the “Casino King” for he loved going out to the casinos which was his happy place. He would also spend his time driving back and forth through the states to his home country of Mexico to visit family members and most importantly his loving mother who is now 95 years old.

He was a loving husband to his wife of 51 years, Bertila Gaspar whom he married in 1968.
