William D. Derr, age 83, of Fortescue died Friday, July 27, 2012 at Virtua Health System in Evesham Twp. following a brief illness. He was the son of the late William F. Derr and Sarah Thomas Derr. The husband of Barbara Ashcroft Derr, he was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 13, 1928 and had lived at his present address in Fortescue for the past 15 years. Prior to that he had resided in Philadelphia. Before his retirement he was self-employed in construction and as an electrician. He enjoyed woodcrafts and woodworking. Besides his wife Barbara, he is survived by a son, Joseph W. Derr of Philadelphia; a daughter, Barbara-Ann Saxton of Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren, William M. Derr, Mary Ellen Bowers, Robert W. Saxton, Stephanie M. Saxton, Barbara R. Saxton, John Lupoli, Carrie Lupoli, Kaile Lupoli, Joshua Lupoli and Julie Lupoli and two great-grandchildren, Robert T. Saxton and Stephen Matthew Stokes. He was preceded in death by a son, William Derr; and four sisters, Sarah, Dorothy, Eleanor and Millie. Memorial Services will be held at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Saturday, August 4th at 3 PM. Cremation and inurnment took place at Laurel Lawn Crematory, Upper Deerfield Township. In lieu of flowers contributions in Mr. Derr's memory can be made to Downe Twp.
