Paul George Herman, 71, of Bridgeton passed away peacefully on December 25, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.

 

Born in Bridgeton, NJ on 6/12/1947 to the late George & Viola Herman, Paul had been a resident of the Bridgeton area all of his life.

 

Paul enlisted in the Marine Corp in October 1964, he was stationed in Paris Island, SC. He proudly served 4 years, also serving in Vietnam. During his service, he had earned the rank of Corporal and was awarded the Rifleman Marksman Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with one star, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device the Presidential Unit Citation and a Purple Heart. He was also a lifetime member of the Meade Woodward VFW Post 1795 and the Marine Corp League.

 

He is survived by; two daughters, Stephanie Sapio and her husband, Don of Voorhees and Crystal Gunning and her husband, Richard of Cinnaminson; his three beloved grandchildren, Emily, Eric & Brett; his nieces, Kathleen Moore-Smith, Angela Engram, Melissa Tomlin and a nephew, Matthew M. Kolonich. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Moore and Pauline Kolonich.

 

Funeral services and military burial honors will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
