            Jesus Solorzano, 89, of Bridgeton passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-Pomona.

 

            Born in Lima, Peru to the late Santos Solorzano and Julia Astete Solorzano, he was the husband of the late Mary Simmons Solorzano. Jesus had been a resident of Bridgeton for the past 49 years and before that he had lived in North Jersey.

 

            Prior to his retirement, Jesus had worked as a Blackjack Dealer for 32 years at the Tropicana Resort Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City.  He had also been previously employed at the former Murbeck Dye and Finishing Co. in Bridgeton. In his free time, he enjoyed music and reading and was a longtime member of the Salvation Army in Bridgeton. 

 

            He is survived by three daughters, Karen Moreno of Pleasantville, Mary Luz Nieves of NC and Sandy Solorzano (Carlos) of Pleasantville; four sons, Jesus A. Solorzano (Belinda) of Mays Landing; Randy Davis (Paulette) of Vineland, Tommy Solorzano of Rio Grande and Terry Solorzano of Bridgeton; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

            Funeral services will be held at the Salvation Army, 29 West Commerce Street, Bridgeton on Thursday, December 20th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.  Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
