Obituary of Leo Allen

            Leo S. Allen, Jr., 72, of Fairfield Twp. passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland.

 

            Born in Bridgeton to the late Leo S. Allen and Aritha Elliott Allen, he was the husband of Rev. Maxine Harris Allen. Leo had been a resident of Fairfield Twp. for the past 35 years and prior to that he had lived in Bridgeton.

 

            Before his retirement, Leo had been employed in security at Salem County College, as a custodian at the Farifield Township Middle School and as a tree surgeon at several local orchards. He was a member and deacon at Fruit of the Spirit Ministries in Bridgeton. In his free time, Leo was an avid fisherman and enjoyed auto mechanics.

 

            In addition to his wife, Maxine,  is survived by his children, Ezra Dale of Florence, Leo Hoxey of Glassboro, Leona Allen of Millville, Alicia Cooper of Fairfield Twp., Anita Allen of Fairfield Twp., Leo Allen III of Vineland and Tina Young of Pennsgrove and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Titus Allen and a daughter, Kieva Harris.

 

            Funeral services will be held at Glory Tabernacle, 1018 Buckshutem Road, Bridgeton on Saturday, December 8th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
