Obituary of Ernest C. Stiles
Ernest C. “Barney” Stiles, 91, of Cedarville died on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Eagleview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsgrove Twp.
Born in Salem to the late Barney Stiles and Elsie Shaffer Stiles, he was the husband of the late Mildred E. “Inky” Stiles. Ernest had been a resident of Lawrence Twp. for 70 years.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for over 40 years. He was a member of Fairfield United Methodist Church. Ernest was a former member of the Deerfield Elks Lodge #733 where he had served as Treasurer, Chaplain, Exalted Ruler, Past Exalted Ruler, District Deputy and Past District Deputy. He was a current member of Vineland Elks Lodge. He had served with the National Guard during World War Two.
Surviving are his daughter, Gwendolyn Estlow and her husband, Bill of Cedarville; three grandchildren, Will, Kenny and Kari and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Ernest Stiles, Jr. and Gregory Stiles; three brothers, Barney Stiles, Leroy Stiles and John Stiles and his sister, Anna Stiles.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, December 4th at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. A visitation will be held on Monday evening, December 3rd from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
