Obituary of Attrew Gross
Attrew Gross, 90, of Port Norris passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland.
Born in Marion Station, MD to the late Noah Beachaump and Ethel Turpin Beachaump, she was the wife of the late Robert H. Gross. Attrew came to Port Norris in 1935 where she was a resident for the rest of her life.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed at the Bivalve Packing Co. in Port Norris as an Oyster Shucker. She had also worked in housekeeping at several hotels in Wildwood and in the Tomato Packing Industry in Egg Harbor Township. Attrew was a member of John Wesley United Methodist in Port Norris. In her free time, she enjoyed attending church, reading her bible and socializing with her lady friends. Attrew was a fan of all of the Philadelphia sports teams but the 76ers were her favorite. She also was an avid watcher of Family Feud and General Hospital.
She is survived by seven children, Lorraine Smith and her husband, Howard of Millville, Robert Gross and his wife, Karen of Millville, Gloria Gross and her fiance, William Johnson of Port Norris, James Gross and his wife, Christine of Millville, Jeffery Gross and his wife, Kimberly of Port Norris, Samuel Gross of Port Norris and Carolyn Harden and her husband, Spencer of Vineland; a sister-in-law, Maggie Beachaump; a brother, Milton Beachaump; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Beachaump and Noah Beachaump; three sisters, Hattie Beachaump, Catherine Johnson and Nelia Smith and two daughters, Sharon Elaine Gross and Valerie Gross and a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Gross.
Funeral services will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2411 Memorial Ave., Port Norris on Friday, November 30th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
