Obituary of Alice M. Pierce

Alice M. Pierce, 90, of Pitman passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at her home under the care of family and Hospice. 

Born in Valley Stream, Long Island, NY she was the daughter of the late Theron A. Chase and Beatrice Marshall Chase.  She was predeceased by her husbands, Frederick S. Pierce and Earl F. Craner.  Alice had been a Pitman resident since 1977 and had lived in Hurffville prior to that. 

Before her retirement, she had been employed by the Deptford Township Board of Education as a school bus driver for 30 years.  After that she continued to work as a school bus aide.  She had also worked with the CJ Bus Service for 14 years and the Armstrong Cork Company in Millville.

Alice deeply enjoyed family gatherings and Sunday family dinners.  She loved her Lord and Church, the time she spent on the bus and her cat Jazzie. 

She is survived by two daughters, Diane J. Helms (Richard) of Pittsgrove, Donna J. Boyle (Michael) of Pittman; three sons, Richard L. Craner (Faye) of Bridgeton, Kevin E. Craner (Odette) of Cherry Hill and Larry R. Craner of Sewell; two stepdaughters, Patricia M. Pierce of Pitman and Cora L. McFarland (Bill) of Glassboro; a stepson, Ricky Pierce (Lorna) of Turnersville, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert T. Chase

Funeral services will be held at the Pitman United Methodist Church, 758 North Broadway, Pitman on Monday, November 26^th.  Friends will be received at the church on Monday morning from 9 to 10:30 followed by services at 11 AM.  Interment will take place at Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp.  Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
