Obituary of David E Exel

David E. Exel, 66, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away unexpectedly at Cooper University Hospital in Camden on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 following a brief illness.

Born in Bridgeton to the late Elsworth Exel and Louella Cleveland Exel, he was the husband of Terri Lohr-Exel. David had been a resident of Upper Deerfield Twp. for the past 20 years. He was raised in the Downe Twp. area and before his current residence he had lived in Bridgeton.

Prior to his retirement, David had worked at Action Supply in Seaville as a mechanic for a few years. He had also been employed as a mechanic at Farm Rite in Shiloh and Trico in Vineland. In his retirement years, David had managed the Dutch Family Furniture Store at the Bridgeton Amish Market, a job that he loved very much. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Hopewell Twp. In his free time, David enjoyed caring for his daughter and grandchildren. His family described him as a handy man who could do any job he needed to and he would often lend his skills to helping others.

He is survived by; his wife, Terri Lohr-Exel of Upper Deerfield Twp.; his daughter, Megan Exel of Upper Deerfield Twp.; four grandchildren, Eva, Aysia, Ayden and Easton; a sister, Virginia of ME and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine and Joan.

Memorial services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Wednesday, November 14th at 1 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in David's memory to the National Stroke Association, 9707 East Easter Lane, Suite B, Centennial, CO 80112 or to a charity of one's choice.
