Catherine Elaine (nee Goldsboro) Street went home to be with the Lord, September 28, 2018. She was born January 18, 1928 in Fairfield Township to the late Frank Goldsboro, Sr. and Rebecca (nee Loatman) Goldsboro.

 

Catherine Elaine (better known to all as Elaine), resided in Bridgeton, New Jersey her entire life. She attended Bridgeton Public Schools, graduating in 1947. Elaine was united in marriage to the late Albert Nelson Street, Sr., June 5th, 1948. They resided in Cedarville and Hopewell Township.

 

Elaine worked in various occupations during her life; Weber's Candy Store, Theber Sewing Company, manager of the Goodwill Thrift Store in Vineland, owned and operated Elaine's Thrift Shop in Bridgeton from 1975-1985 and retired from her last place of employment, the Bridgeton Board of Education as an instructional assistant. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Fairfield Twp. Her free time was spent volunteering at the West Cumberland Little League managing the concession stand, antiquing, playing pinochle and traveling.

 

Elaine and Nelson had a gift of making all who entered their home feel loved and welcome. She made their home a haven for anyone that walked through the door. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all televised sporting events. Elaine was well known for her outstanding culinary skills and her homemade rolls were a favorite among family and friends.

 

Elaine's pride and joy was being a mother to her sons and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

 

She was predeceased by; her parents Frank Goldsboro, Sr. and Rebecca (Loatman) Goldsboro; her husband, Albert Nelson Street, Sr.; a sister, Doris Pierce; two brothers, Frank Goldsboro, Jr. and William Goldsboro and a son, Martin Carney, Sr.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory; four sons, Albert N. Street, Jr. and his wife, Antoinette of Bridgeton, Romaine S. Street, Sr. and his wife, Bernice of Shiloh, Kevin Street, Sr. and his wife, Gwendolyn of Hopewell Twp. and Herbert Street, Sr. and his wife, Rebecca of Fairfield Twp.; grandchildren, Albert N. Street, III (Sylena), Jade Gattis (Kenneth), Romaine S. Street, Jr. (Brittany), Cara Fischer (John), Charlotte Gould, Kevin Street, Jr., Tiffany Street-Beka (Sova), Herbert “Herbie” Street, Jr. (Christine), Martin Carney, Jr. (Karen) and Shawna Carney; great-grandchildren, Kenneth, Jr., Jayla, Hayden, Malia and Amaya; four sisters, Marion Harris, Rose Smith, Bernice Bailey and Helen Morris; four brothers, Wayne Goldsboro, John Goldsboro, Linwood Goldsboro and George Goldsboro and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

 

Funeral services will be held at St. John's United Methodist Church, 680 Fordville Rd., Fairfield Twp. on Friday, October 5th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Gouldtown Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
