            Billie G. Smith, 89, of Bridgeton passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland. 

 

            Born in High Point, NC to the late Cornellia Benton, she was the wife of the late Ulysses Smith. Billie had been a resident of Bridgeton since 1988 and prior to that she had lived in Brooklyn, NY.

 

            Prior to her retirement, Billie had worked as a switchboard operator at Talent Exchange in New York City. She had also taught at Last Day Remnant Bible College in Bridgeton.

 

            She is survived by three children, Leonard C. Smith of Vineland, Elizabeth V. English of Bridgeton and Cheryl D. Thompson of Bridgeton; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ulysses Smith, Jr.

 

            Funeral services will be held at In His Image Evangelical Ministries, 335 Gouldtown-Woodruff Rd., Bridgeton on Saturday, August 25th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church form 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
