Obituary of Gloria I. Hart

Gloria I. Hart, 82, of Bridgeton passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at her home under the care of hospice and her family following an extended illness.

                Born in Washington, D.C. to the late James Onley and Inez Brown Onley, she was the wife of the late Elvin Hart. Gloria had been a Bridgeton area resident for most of her life but had also lived in Richmond, VA and Bordentown where she lived at boarding school until her graduation.

                Prior to her retirement, Gloria had worked at the Vineland Developmental Center for over 10 years. She had also been employed at Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for over 30 years. When she was younger Gloria had also worked at the former Crystal Laundry.  She was a member of the Alice Felts Federated Club where she served many different roles. In her free time, Gloria enjoyed; shopping, visiting the casinos, flower gardening, bird watching and most of all spending time with her family. She also loved her dog, Shorty, very much.

                She is survived by; five children, Paulette D. Hart of Bridgeton, Elvin Hart, Jr. and his wife, Mildred of Elmer, Tony Hart of Vineland, Crystal Denby and her husband, Gary of Bridgeton and Dionne M. Edwards and her husband, Curtis J. of Bridgeton; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Tony Jr., Andre, Kevin, Christopher, Shannae, Shamarra, Gary, Jr. and Tee Tee; 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Besides her husband, Elvin who died in 2006, she was preceded in death by; a sister, Sarah Onley and a granddaughter, Marie Goldsboro.

                Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, July 31^st at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
