Obituary of Donald R. Johnson

            On Friday, July 20, 2018, Donald R. Johnson, Sr., 84, of Bridgeton went home to be with the Lord at his home under the care of hospice.

            Born in Stow Creek Twp. to the late Orville and Emma Land Johnson, Donald was the husband of Margaret Broomall Johnson. He had been a resident of the Bridgeton area all of his life.

            Prior to his retirement, Donald had worked at E.I. DuPont Chambers Works in Deepwater for many years. He loved the game of golf, fishing and spending as much time with his grandchildren as he possibly could. His loved ones will surely miss him.

            He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret and his two children, Donald Johnson Jr. of Deerfield Twp. and Terri Barnes and her husband, Vernon of Bridgeton; his brother, Carl Johnson of Travares, FL; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Beatrice Sturman and his brothers, Orville Jr., Kenny, Ted, and Raymond.

            Memorial services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, July 26^th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veteran's Cemetery in Hopewell Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Donald's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Bayada at Inspira Hospice, 603 North Broad Street, Suite 301, Woodbury, NJ 08069.
