Obituary of Joseph S. Chew

Joseph S. Chew, 19, of Elmer passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 9, 2018. 

The son of Douglas S. Chew (Denise Higbee) of Fortescue and Judy E. Vena of Elmer, he was born in Camden and was a lifetime Elmer resident. 

Joseph was a graduate of the Schalick High School Class of 2018 and the Salem County Vocational Technical School Class of 2018 specializing in welding. 

He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.  He loved spending time with his family and friends and the family pets. 

In addition to his parents, Joseph is survived by his sister, Dana Chew; paternal grandfather, Louis Chew, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Judy Bown and aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Audrey Chew. 

Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Monday, July 23rd at 11 AM.  Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services.  Interment will be private at Shiloh Seventh Day Baptist Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Joseph's memory be made to Cumberland County Ducks Unlimited, 2 Rosewood Road, Millville, NJ  08332.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
