Vernon W. Couch, 70, of Bridgeton died on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home.
Born in Bridgeton to the late Vernon L. Couch and Jean Nelson Couch, he was a lifetime resident of the Bridgeton area.
Prior to his retirement, Vernon had been employed with Verizon formerly Bell Atlantic and NJ Bell Telephone for over 30 years as a line splicer. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict serving at Natick Laboratories in Natick, MA. Vernon was a member of the Bridgeton High School Class of 1966 and the Order of Eagles Bridgeton Airy #2127. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and watching his favorite teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
Vernon is survived by two brothers, his twin, Carl Couch of Hopewell Twp. and Marlon Couch of Deerfield Twp.; three daughters, Karen Carty of Pittsgrove, Kathy Necus of Los Angeles, CA and Alice Jean Kustenbauder of New Haven, CT; his companion of many years, Jane Mingin of Bridgeton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Couch.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, June 2nd at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the services.
