Obituary of Thomas L. Waller

            Thomas L. Waller, Sr., 87, of Hopewell Twp. passed away at his home on Monday, May 14, 2018.

            Born in Carney's Point to the late Luther Perry Waller and Alice Madeline Lane Waller, he was the husband of the late Dorothy Brown Waller. Thomas had been a resident of Hopewell Twp. since the early 1950's and prior to that he had lived in Bridgeton.

            Before his retirement, he had worked as a mechanic for Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for over 30 years and also for Cumberland County. He was a member of the Bridgeton High School Championship Football Team in 1947 and the American Legion Shoemaker Post 95. Thomas was also a former member of the Hopewell Twp. School Board and one of the original members of the Cumberland Regional High School Board.

            He is survived by a son, Thomas L. Waller, Jr. of Bridgeton; a daughter, Cathy A. Keen of Hopewell Twp.; five grandchildren, Sara Chapman, Edward R. Keen (Zully), Victor L. Keen, Thomas E. Keen (Amanda) and Cristina Truster (Jay);11 great-grandchildren, David Keen, Jordan Keen, Travis Keen, Ryder Keen, Victor Keen, Jr., Cole Truster, Levi Truster, Nate Keen, Natalie Keen, Emma Chapman and Cora Chapman; three sisters, June Adams (Jack) of Bridgeton, Alma Nichols of Deerfield Twp. and Patricia Brown of Hopewell Twp.; one brother, Burt Waller (Winnie) of Georgia and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Luther, Edward and Paul Waller and a sister, Betty Peraset.

            Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, May 17^th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
