Edward Maurer, 84, of Bridgeton passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2013 at home under the care of his family and hospice.

 

            Born in Bridgeton to the late Rudolf Maurer and Anna Hausgen Maurer, he was the husband of Shirley Lupton Maurer. He was a Bridgeton resident all of his life.  Ed and Shirley would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this coming July.

 

            Prior to his retirement, Edward had been a Union Plumber with the Plumber and Pipe Fitters Union Local  # 322-Camden for over 60 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. In his free time, Edward enjoyed fishing.

 

            In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by his devoted and loving daughter, Cathleen Maurer of Bridgeton; his brother, Robert Maurer of Millville and his adopted granddaughter, Daniela Guerrero. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Maurer; three brothers, Rudolf Maurer, Paul Maurer and Charles Maurer and four sisters, Eugenie Caine, Martha Morgan, Anna Staudt and Lillie Maurer.

 

            Shirley and Cathleen would like to thank Rosario and Julio Lopez and Holy Redeemer Hospice for their help in keeping Ed at home. They would also like to thank their faithful friends, Bonnie and Bob Swank for their support during this time.

 

            At Ed's request, there were to be no services held. A private interment will be held at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
