Obituary of Scott Michael Simmerman

Scott Michael Simmerman, 54, of Sandy Springs, Georgia passed away suddenly on Friday, April 20, 2018.  Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of Gary F. and Patricia (Michael) Simmerman. Scott was a graduate of Cumberland Regional High School Class of 1982 and York College of Pennsylvania Class of 1987 with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. He received a Master of Science in Contract and Acquisition Management in 1995 from The Florida Institute of Technology. 

Besides his parents, he is survived by two sons, Matthew and Austin; two brothers, Gary W. (Barbara) Simmerman of Brookline, NH and Kevin P. Simmerman of Wyomissing, PA; two nephews, Michael and Chad Simmerman of PA; a niece, Olivia Simmerman of NH; a very special cousin, Michele (Wade) Aulffo and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. 

He had been employed by Johnson Controls, then by IBM Corporation as a Manager of Financial Control Systems. 

Scott was an avid Eagles fan, loved animals, especially cats and volunteered at the Furkids No Kill Animal Shelter. He also enjoyed camping trips with friends and liked all kinds of music, his favorite band was Blue Oyster Cult. 

Friends will be received at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Saturday, April 28^th from 11 AM to 1 PM. Services will follow the visitation at 1 PM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Scott’s memory be made to The Furkids No Kill Animal Shelter, 1520 Union Hill Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30005 or the Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 N. Delsea Dr., Vineland, NJ 08360.
