Obituary of Barbara B. Boyd
Barbara B. “Cookie” Boyd, 57, of Port Norris passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital Hospice Center in Philadelphia following an extended illness.
Born in Port Norris to Ernestine Johnson Camper and the late Charles Camper, she was the wife of Grover Boyd. Barbara had been a resident of Port Norris for most of her life but had briefly lived in Cape May County.
Prior to her retirement in 2003, Barbara had worked at the Woodbine Developmental Center in Woodbine for over 28 years. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Port Norris. In her free time she enjoyed reading books, watching horror movies and knitting. Barbara also loved music and dancing. Her family described her as a woman who could always make you laugh and she had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by; her husband, Grover Boyd of Rio Grande; her mother, Ernestine Camper of Port Norris; two daughters, Brandi Spaulding of Cape May County and Ikea Boyd of Cape May County; her sister, Vanessa Hart of Port Norris; two brothers, Don Johnson of Port Norris and Terry Johnson of Port Norris; a special nephew, John G. White, III of Port Norris; six grandchildren, Jayden, twins Kabron and Kae'shon, Akira, Khyle and Christopher and a great niece, Jaylah.
Funeral services will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2411 Memorial Ave., Port Norris on Friday, March 2nd at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville.
