Christopher G. Young, age 26, of Upper Deerfield Township died unexpectedly at home on Friday, June 15, 2012. He had been battling the effects of Epilepsy for several years. A resident of Upper Deerfield Township most of his life, Chris was born in Bridgeton on July 7, 1985 and was the son of William L. Young, Jr. and Tina Rupert Young. He had previously been employed as a welder with the Millville Iron Works and was a 2003 graduate of Cumberland Regional High School. He had also attended the Cumberland County Vocational Technical Center where graduated in 2004. Chris was an experienced guitarist and pool player and enjoyed fishing and being with his friends. He was a social member of the V.F.W. Meade-Woodward Post 1795 in Bridgeton. In addition to his parents who reside in Upper Deerfield Township, he is survived by a brother, David W. Young of Upper Deerfield Township; eight aunts, Geraldine Rupert, Marian Gilson, Karen Sheppard, Sheryl Young, Ruthanne Young, Marlise Counsellor, Kate Young and Amy Duckardt and a niece, Cameryn Young. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Wednesday, June 20th at 7 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 7 PM prior to the services. Cremation and inurnment will take place on Thursday at Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Township.
