Netta M. McDermott, 83, of Bridgeton passed away early Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at her home with her family. The wife of the late William McDermott, Jr., she was born in Josephine, PA and was the daughter of the late Thomas Gibbons and Mary Jennings Gibbons.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at Bridgeton Hospital for 25 years. Before the Hospital she worked at the former Dee’s Appliance Store at Carll’s Corner and the J.C. Penney Department store in Bridgeton.
She was a member of the Ladies Aux. of Eagles Lodge # 2127 and enjoyed puzzles, crossword puzzles and shopping trips with family.
Surviving are three sons, William McDermott, III (Debra) of Hopewell Twp., Michael McDermott (Lynda) of Bridgeton and Kevin “Wolfie” McDermott of Bridgeton; a daughter, Sherry Earnest (Gary) of Bridgeton; two sisters, Martha Glass of Bridgeton and Stella Garlitz of Monaca, PA; five grandchildren, Gary Earnest, Jr., Brian Earnest, Patrick McDermott, II, Miranda McDermott and Meagan McDermott and a great granddaughter, Camaron. She was predeceased by a son, Patrick McDermott, a grandson, Jonah Smith; two brothers, William and Thomas Gibbons and a sister, Margaret Garlitz.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, January 13th at 11 AM. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp.
