Obituary of Mary W. Harris

            Mary W. Harris, 98, of Cherry Hill and formerly of Bridgeton passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Samaritan Hospice Center in Voorhees. 

            The daughter of the late William S. Wheaton and Nettie Warren Wheaton she was born in Bridgeton and was the wife of the late James M. Harris.  She had resided in Cherry Hill for the past eight years but had been a lifetime Bridgeton resident prior to that. 

Before her retirement in 1981, she had been employed as office manager for the former Robert H. Weber Real Estate and Insurance Company in Bridgeton for twenty three and a half years.

A member of First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeton, she was also a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution-Tea Burning Chapter where she had served as treasurer.

She is survived by her son, William J. Harris and his wife Patricia of Evesham Twp, three grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by three sisters, Sarah Frances Wheaton, Dorothy Pendleton and Arabella Maier.

Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, December 11th at 11 AM.  Friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services.  Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Mary’s memory be made to a charity of one’s choice or to Samaritan Hospice.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
