Ronnie L. Wilson, age 70, of Millville died on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at his home following two months of declining health. The son of the late Marvin Wilson and Helen Criss Wilson and husband of Kathleen Tompkins Wilson, he was born in Prudence, West Virginia on June 18, 1941. He had lived at his present for 7 years and prior to that had resided in Bridgeton. Before his retirement in 2004, he had been employed with the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton in the shipping department for over 30 years. A veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, he had served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Ronnie was known to his family as "Pop" and to his friends as "Reds". He had a passion for horse racing, fishing, shooting pool and his pet, Lovey. Although he was a man of few words, he touched the lives and hearts of many. Ronnie supported his family in a silent and gallant way and will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Besides his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by; three daughters, Kathy Fisher of Millville, Cheryl Prost of Salem, and Sharon Estrada of Miami, FL; two sisters; Patsy Wilson of Bridgeton and Jackie Hamrick of Summersville, WV; a brother, Dwayne Wilson of Durham, NC, eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a sister Ann Watson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 8th at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, at 12 Noon. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services. Interment will take place at the Cumberland County Veteran's Cemetery in Hopewell Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Wilson's memory may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 150 Ninth Ave., Runnemede, NJ 08078.
