Obituary of Louis F Romano, Jr
Louis F. “Lou” Romano, Jr., 61 of Upper Deerfield Twp. and formerly of Cedarville died on Monday, November 13, 2017 at his home following an extended illness.
Born in Bridgeton to Dorothy Springfield Romano-Kenney and the late Louis Romano, Sr., he was the husband of Shirley A. “Dee” Morgan Romano. He had been a resident of Cedarville most of his life but had been living in Upper Deerfield Twp. most recently.
Lou had been employed by Hartley's H & R Hardware in Upper Deerfield Twp. He had been previously employed in by the Millville Board of Education in the Maintenance Department, K. Hovanian Homes as a construction manager and Maple Run Farms in Cedarville for many years. He had also owned and operated Romano's Home Remodeling and Repair. In his free time, Lou enjoyed working on classic Mopar cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles and going to car shows with his wife. He was good at working with his hands. Lou attended Victory Assembly of God in Centerton and was known as a loving husband and a generous person. He had an outgoing personality and many friends.
He is survived by; his wife, Shirley “Dee” Romano of Upper Deerfield Twp.; his mother, Dorothy Romano-Kenney of Cedarville; five sisters, Jean “Poochie” Bendler of Fairton, Kathy Simpkins of Hopewell Twp., Sandra Wright of Fairton, Barbara Gilson of Hopewell Twp. and Julia “Petie” DeThomas of Cedarville; a step-son, Richard Cooper, Jr.; two step-daughters, Chastity Cooper and Shannon Cooper; three step-grandsons and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by; his father, Louis F. Romano, Sr. and a nephew, Eric Simpkins.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Sunday, November 19th at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. A visitation will be held on Saturday evening November 18th from 5 PM to 7 PM and on Sunday morning, November 19th from 9 AM to 10 AM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lou's memory to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, PO Box 781352, Philadelphia, PA 19178-1352.
