Obituary of Roy R. Bowser, Sr.

Roy Bowser Sr. was born on September 2, 1927 to the late Cellie and Henry Bowser in Accomack County, VA. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, NJ.

He received his formal education in the public schools of Accomack County, VA. He was a resident of Port Norris, New Jersey for over 60 years. He attended the John Wesley Church in Bridgeton, New Jersey for a period of time. Roy had been formerly employed by Shieldalloy Metallurgical Corp. in Newfield for many years.

“Bud”, as he was affectionately called, loved his family and friends. He especially loved his dogs and waved to everyone he saw. Two of his favorite hymns were “Rough Side of the Mountain” and “Precious Lord”.

He leaves to cherish his memories; four daughters, Darlene Livingston, Debbie Langley, Janet Bowser, and Louise Harden, all of Millville, NJ; four sons, Roy Bowser Jr. of FL, Ray Bowser of FL, Berman Grant of Millville, and Steven Ennals of Port Norris, NJ; five sons-in-law, Joseph Livingston, Jerome Langley, Teddy Bethea, Alvin McArthur, and Rudolph Forman; two daughters-in-law, Vivian Bowser and Vanette Lecator; 36 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Lina Bowser; two daughters, Marion Forman and Lina Denise Bethea; and two sons, Terry Bowser and Roy WainWright.

Funeral services will held at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 2523 Ogden Ave. Port Norris on Saturday, November 18th at 11 AM. Interment will be held at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
