Obituary of Darlene E. Johnson

            Darlene E. Johnson, 37, of Port Norris died suddenly and unexpectedly at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland on Monday, October 27, 2017 following a year long illness.

            Darlene was born in Vineland to Brenda Johnson Heath and Eugene Smith. She had been a resident of Port Norris for the past year but had lived in Cape May for 10 years prior to her illness when she moved back to Port Norris.

            Darlene had been previously employed by Holly Shores Campground in Cape May. She had attended John Wesley United Methodist Church in Port Norris. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her sons and mother. Darlene was an outgoing person and a friend to many.

            She is survived by her parents, Larry and Brenda Heath of Port Norris, her biological father, Eugene Smith of FL; her sons, Larry Gross and Elias Fazen; three sisters, Wendeline Johnson of SD, Destiny Johnson of Millville and Kiondra Williams of FL; her step-children, Terrance Fazen, Mariah Fazen, Taylor Fazen and Alex Fazen; two step-brothers, Calvin Gilford of Millville and Larry Jacobs of Vineland; five step-sisters, Michelle Heath of Clinton, Denise Young (Dennis) of Winslow Twp., Shiela Henry (Dion) of Pittsgrove Twp., Carolyn Howard of Vineland and Brandi Gilford of Glassboro; two God-brothers, Melvin Kent, Jr. and Marcell Jones; a God-sister, Tykia Thompson and her God-parents, Claudia Strickland and James Gross. She was preceded in death by; her maternal grandparents, Leon and Catherine Johnson and her paternal grandparents, Eugena Jones and Norman Smith.

            Funeral services will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2411 Memorial Avenue, Port Norris on Monday, November 6th at 12 Noon.  Friends will be received from 10 am to 12 Noon prior to the services at the church.  Interment will be made at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp.  Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
